Anime, manga, kimonos, saying "Kawaii." We all love it.
Either openly or secretly. But unless you can truly speak japanese, or actually know about their culture, then don't even attempt to act Japanese. This means, if you've learned evrything you know from anime, and you think everyone on the entire continent of Asia A:runs around with giant swords, B: is a ninja, or C: has a tail and animal ear atop their heads, or D: 'All of the Above and much, plus they live off of ramen. it's their strict diet." you may need to study up a bit more. ^^

And I mean this by no offense towards every single fan girl/boy out there. If you're just the person who explodes every time someone mentions anime, that's fine. Anime is made of win. :D

And if you actually DO know Japanese, sure okay. I mean, it's not like your forbidden to speak it. Deviantart is an incredibly diverse community of artists. I just mean don't run around saying things that may not even make sense.

I so totally agree. I'm sick of American people trying so hard to be Japanese.

This could apply to any ethnic group, really. Why just Japanese?

I had Japanese and ethnic-Japanese friends who complain their anime, games, and culture are misinterpreted by the West. In any case, this is also true in reverse.

Don't attempt to act Japanese whoever you are. Citizen or not. Trust me. I practically live there and yes, I am a citizen, speak and understand, and write Japanese... all that stuff. So I can say this. Japanese culture is not what it is in anime. That is their take on Western culture. Trust me, Japanese culture is great... but tiring. And oppressing.

Hai, sensei.
JK...this really made me laugh. Awesome. (Ever met a Westerner who talks like they have a slight Japanese accent? If not, yeah they're out there...drives me up the wall, lol.) I like Japan--I've been there four times--and I totally dig this stamp.
